Meet Abigail O’Neill of Model Chocolate

Today we’d like to invite you to get to know of our clients a little bit better, the very talented Abigail O’Neill, author of Model Chocolate, model, mother, writer and chef extraordinaire.

To give you a bit more background, Abigail first contacted us back in October and told us all about this wonderful fashion/meets super-healthy chocolate recipe book she was launching in one months time and we immediately leapt at the opportunity to get involved.

Model Chocolate the e-book launched in November last year, it’s choca-block full (excuse the pun) of mostly raw, sugar free, dairy free, gluten free chocolate recipes. So you can eat as much of it as you want without any of the guilt, in fact Abigail swears it will make you healthier.

Find out more about Model Chocolate by reading the complete press release.

For now meet Abigail…

Describe yourself in 3 words?
Inspirational, flamboyant, affectionate.

Why did you decide to write Model Chocolate?
To inspire people in a cool way to eat healthy delicious superfood chocolate

Describe a typical day in your life?
Make family breakfasts, lunches, juices, supersmoothies (in the book), put some washing on, go for a 20minute walk – if I’m good, then get down to work on recipes or writing articles. Somewhere along the way I eat something (usually a nice supersalad, or more chocolate from the book), pick up kids from bus, make afternoon tea, followed by a vegetarian/raw vegan dinner and then I relax and spend time with family. sometimes I have jobs to squeeze into my week – usually in Brisbane.

What has been the highlight of your Model Chocolate journey so far?
The highlight was definitely the fashion shoots for the book. It was a wonderful experience being able to plan my concept of ‘superfood meets vogue’ and create such beauty with a passionate team. Being the client as well as modelling was too cool, as usually I work to portray what other people have in mind. We had the most incredibly talented group of people who brought the Model Chocolate vision to life and in such a short space of time – absolutely amazing! The other best part of it was, being able to feed all those models!! We had my Quinoa superfood salads with hommus and beetroot dip and linseed crackers (their on my blog), as well as a lot of delicious Model Chocolate breakfast, snacks, desserts and raw chocolates floating around.

What are your three top health/lifestyle tips?
Love, eat well, laugh

What inspires you on a daily basis?
Beauty always inspires me! also food, nature, colour

What is your favourite Fashionable Dessert from Model Chocolate and why?
If everything was made up on the table I’d find it hard to choose, but I’d probably go for the Raw Tiramisu as it’s just soo unbelievably rich and delicious as well as being pure beauty food – I even eat it for breakfast

How would you describe your personal style?
Mix Kate Moss with some hippy girl and you’ve probably got it, but if I could dress up, really dress up often, oh my, the things I would love to do!

What does fashion mean to you?
Such an expression of beauty, I love beauty. It’s also bold, and I love the unpredictable.

What is your mantra for life?
Love, love is the essence of life – everything responds to love.

If you could have dinner with one famous person dead or alive who would it be and why and what Model Chocolate recipe would you make for them?
I’d love to have dinner with so many people!! Oh dear this is the hardest question. Models, fashionistas (I’d want to feed them so much chocolate and see their faces light up knowing how good it is for the skin and body), but to choose one person only, hmmm I’ll say the Queen, that would be some dinner and I’m sure she’s never tried anything like Model Chocolate.

Other than chocolate what is your speciality?
Everything. I’ve prepared delish healthy meals for my family for over 20years and excel in vegetarian/vegan cookery of every description including 100% sourdough bread. I have also lived the raw foodie lifestyle myself for quite sometime so I know all the jargon for sprouting, growning wheatgrass, making seed cheeses, raw breads, etc, and I make lots of raw food dishes. Oh then I did roast an enormous organic turkey last Christmas for my extended family (never made one in my life) they say it turned out perfection – although I do usually like to leave the compliment giving to others. I just love to cook by heart (no recipes just lots of fresh local organic produce)! When you love something enough you succeed at it no matter what it is in life.
