Model Chocolate In The Northern Star

In the last two weeks we have reached out to all kinds of media to secure coverage for the launch of Model Chocolate as an e-book. Our outreach has included local publications around its author, Abigail O’Neill’s, local town Alstonville, on the NSW North Coast.

The Northern Star published this lovely piece on Abigail and Model Chocolate over the weekend.

“ALSTONVILLE mum of three Abigail O’Neill says she is proof that you can eat chocolate nearly every day and still launch a modelling career with a leading agency at the grand old age of 32.

But Abigail is not talking about your typical block of chocolate loaded up with processed sugar and dairy here, but healthy chocolates she whips up herself from the purest of ingredients to sate her sweet tooth.

Abigail has launched a book two years in the making called Model Chocolatecomprised of more than 70 original, mostly raw, sugar free, gluten free and dairy free chocolate recipes.

“People are so excited when they taste this chocolate and realise they can make it in minutes,” said Abigail during a break in a photo shoot at Toowoomba.

“All of the recipes are 100% my own inspirations; I didn’t look at other raw chocolate ideas because I wanted them to be my own.”

Abigail says she was eating Model Chocolate recipes almost everyday as she researched and wrote the book.

“It was challenging, at one point I stuck myself in my chocolate covered kitchen for about two months straight, non-stop, everyday. It’s a real testament to the chocolate that I haven’t put on a lot of weight. Of course you need to eat healthy and exercise as well, but Model Chocolate is full of recipes you can enjoy without all the guilt.”

Abigail was 16 when she was first approached by a modelling agency.

She opted for marriage and motherhood over the glamorous life, but another opportunity arose in her early 30s.

The 38-year-old is currently represented by Dallys Models in Brisbane, but prior to her move to the Northern Rivers she was with Chic Management in Sydney.

Her campaigns have included David Jones, OPSM, and Hilton Hotels.

Abigail says its testament to her healthy lifestyle that she could launch a career that hinges on your looks at a time when most models are hanging up their stilettos.

She eats an abundance of raw foods, uses only organic products on her skin including her own face masks, which she makes from scratch and practices yoga.

In addition to all the healthy chocolate recipes, Model Chocolate also features 50 high fashion style images with Abigail modelling eco-friendly clothing.

It was launched as an ebook late last month and has already racked up $1400 in downloads, Abigail revealed.

The print edition will be launched early next year.
